While flying, the glider hold your life, so you'd better be sure of its reliability. But for a old glider, or a second-hand glider, how is it possible to assure its reliability?

To tackle this issue, we propose a very simple thing: Get your glider checked in a certified APPI maintenance center! We call it the APPI diagnostic and it checks following essentials:

• The fabric strength: Because a wing whose fabric could tear in flight is something you simply can't detect without specific tools and training

• The line strength: All the main lines of your paraglider tested with APPI's non-destructive method. So you know if the heart of the lineset is solid.

• A quick line inspection: To identify any damaged lines that will need replacing, and what it'll cost you.

• A quick canopy inspection: To catch any structural damage that needs repair

After these checks, your APPI expert estimates if the cost/state ratio does make sense and therefore answers the question: Is this wing worth buying?

This check will give you a first idea of the general quality of the glider, but does not certify if the glider is airworthy (meaning it can fly safely). So if you want to go further in the glider inspection, the next step is the APPI Airworthiness Check: trim correction, thorough inspection, repairs... Many workshops even include a test flight, which is the only way to be truly certain the glider behaves correctly in the air.
