Launch site is on the bay side of the levee. Access to the LZ is via approach to the Texas City Dike where one must pay the $5 toll to get onto the Dike whereby one must then take a U-turn to get onto the levee.
One can use this as a launching site for further inland travels. Should one follow the shoreline north beyond the floodgates, be aware landing on the other side of the floodgates could result in a 4 mile walkout as the access road is padlocked shut.Rules
Do not fly over the refinery nor over the water areas of the park. Texas City has this as a protected nesting ground for various migratory species.

Only fly when the winds are from the north to the southeast. Winds from the south and/or southwest will result in very turbulent air due to the refinery.
