access

Berge located east of Etne center . It 's nice to fly on sea breezes coming in the bay west wind. The place is also thermally and is one of our best flight area . There are two starting points , one at 400 m.asl and 200 m.asl . Large landing field below start. Turbulent purely northerly winds (or no), observe the main wind direction . Then the wind toggle to come from the right ( Big Valley ) and from the bay. Inexperienced does not fly when the main wind direction is north. To get to the landing then taking off from E134 - follow signs to Grindheim . Follow the winding road to the landing field is located on the left side by a large gravel parking area for trucks / construction equipment . No landing in the high grass . From the landing, look up to the takeoff that is the lowest start of 200 meters . There are trees around the start , and one must pay special attention to the wind direction is fine in, the changing wind at the start may indicate that the wind does not come properly . To get to the start then continue on past the landing field, turn left at the next intersection, then run a small mile and turn left at the next intersection, a right turn and follow the road uphill , drive carefully, kids playing. parks where the road ends old farmstead . Walk 10 min on forest road you'll see the takeoff which is the lower start. The upper start then go an additional 10 min, remove from the forest road at the small cairn, follow the path until you reach the start. The start is somewhat flat and so it goes fairly steep. Upper start Berge require step 2 Lower initial steps 3 especially because of it is just inside the terrain and it can easily be changing wind here . At low wind or northern wind it might be nice to fly on a trip to Frette trip / return of the Grand Valley. If going west towards Olen should have 15- 1600m before leaving Berge. It has been flown to Skjoldastraumen from Berge.
