weather
1) Westerlies, northerlies or foen winds. Do not fly! Extremly turbulent and dangerous. If forecasts give northerlies but on takeoff you find a gusty wind from south, it's a rotor. 2) Valley breeze: from april until september this site is flyable in the morning (until 11 or 12 mostly) or in late evening. In the afternoon the valley breeze can be up to 50kmh strong and not survivable by a paraglider. If it happens to fly in mid day, make top-landing on the fields at Verrayes - Frazzione Hers.access
If arriving on highway, exit at Nus, then follow the signs towards Aosta. When entering nus, follow signts to S.barthelemy. Go up for several kilometers and go inside the S.barthelemy valley. After a small village called Val Dessus drive some 200m and turn right on the road with sign saying 'La Pesse'. Drive up asphalted and sometimes gravel road. When you reach the takeoff, drive little bit up until you reach a grassy field on the right where you can park the car (on the road below the takeoff there is no space) and reach the takeoff by a 2min horizontal walk.regulation
Attention, general aviation, ultralight and helicopter traffic in the valley. It is suggested not to fly in the center of valley at high altitude. Do not fly west from Nus, the ATZ of Aosta starts there.Take off
