Ballaugh

DESCRIPTION

Ballaugh is a great site with an 800 ft ridge and a 754 foot top to bottom. Access is up the hill from the front if you have a 4×4 with good ground clearance or from the rear if no 4×4 is available. The tracks are now very rutted in places. There are easy take-offs and huge top landings with plenty of fields out front and to the north for bottom landings. This is a good safe site and works with winds from 8 mph NW although it can get very bumpy on thermic days towards the top end of the wind range.

access

Drive up the front through farmers fields. Access from TT course just outside Ballagh. 4x4 needed. Alternatively, from Druidale road take the track on the left just where the road first starts to flatten out after the climb. Track is innitially stony and rough, but clears onto grasslands. Continue on track to gates into sheep fields. From here you have to walk if the ground is wet. When dry, you can drive all the way to take-off.
