Town of Prairie du Sac

DESCRIPTION

Respect traffic and people living in the area. There are irrigation canals running across these fields so avoid landing in one. Shallow but wet. Take off and landing requires good ground skills as narrow. Water canal present alongside take off so no room for bad ground handling skills...or you will get wet :). On a good wind day, 2000ft climb on tow is the average.

ACTIVITIES

- paragliding
- winch
- flatland
- thermals

weather

NOAA is very accurate for the area. Forecast tools linked on Compass AirSports website refer to that particular site. Strong west wind is usually turbulent as it comes from over the hills to the west. Site works great when XC potential is present. 15 mph on the ground makes the flying there unsafe as usually stronger just above. Max average wind for good flying is 12mph.

access

Easy access just off Hwy 60. 1.5 miles WSW of Sauk City WI.

regulation

Common sense. Do not fly low over the nearby farms and avoid landing on the asphalt roads. Give priority all human and vehicle traffic. Observe air traffic at the nearby small Sauk City airport. Nobody is towing there if it is not flyable. NO PPGs, please!
