Performance
Performance certification means that the pilot has acquired advanced knowledge and skills to perform ambitious cross country flights with a good safety level.
PREREQUISITES
To enroll in APPI performance course, an individual must be certified APPI 3 pilot, or be holder of a rating equivalent to FAI IPPI 3. SIV and XC certifications are mandatory to enter the course. Have the minimum age in accordance with local rules (Federation/ Civil Aviation/ Army, etc), and have the authorization of a parent/guardian if of minor age.TRAINING
The course provides advanced weather forecasting skills including precise atmosphere instability analysis, advanced knowledge of glider’s performance in order to define different strategy in flight, improvement of thermalling skills, rhythm management, cutting-edge knowledge on instruments use, and airspaces. Also advanced techniques and tools for emotional control, performance self analysis and risk evaluation are studied.
